Oshawa NDP MPP Jennifer French, released the following statement on the strike deadline at Ontario Tech
"I was glad to meet recently with the leadership of the UOIT faculty association and hear directly about the challenging issues faced by faculty at Ontario Tech. I am urging the parties to stay at the table to avoid a strike that would be disruptive to so many. I am calling on the provincial government to encourage Ontario Tech to stick at the bargaining table to negotiate a fair contract with these workers. The school year has already had so many challenges and a strike should be avoided if possible".
