QUEEN’S PARK – Official Opposition MPP for Oshawa, Jennifer French, is calling on the Government to stop dragging its feet and start delivering on their health care promises to the residents of Durham Region:
“Decades of Liberal and Conservative governments have left Durham residents with a raw deal on health care,” said French. “With the new Durham Region hospital in Whitby, people finally see some hope for care closer to home. Unfortunately, this government has taken zero action to make this hospital a reality since the proposed site was announced two years ago. Premier Ford won’t even commit to the basic step of providing a $3 million planning grant to get the process started. Why won’t this government make a commitment to the health care needs across Durham Region?”
"Lakeridge Health has been pushed to the brink, and they do not have the resources to meet the current needs. Durham residents have made their demands clear: enough is enough.It is time for the Government, especially the 6 elected Government MPPs in Durham Region, to stand up for our communities’ healthcare needs.”
